As my MFA thesis project at the University of Washington, I created BriteNow to examine the role of persuasion in advertising and design. I identified 20 common persuasive techniques, used them to create postcard advertisements for BriteNow.com, and distributed them in free locations such as coffee shops. The website provided information about each technique, as well as a gallery for uploading real-world examples. As part of the process, each MFA candidate displayed work at the Henry Art Gallery as part of the MFA show.
